The third phase of Wuhan Tianhe Airport is a key transportation hub project in Hubei Province and Wuhan City, with the core body of the T3 terminal, with the design theme of "bright galaxy, phoenix dancing for nine days", resembling a phoenix spreading its wings, and is a landmark building in Wuhan's internationalization process. The total construction area of the project is 495,000 square meters, covering 370,000 square meters of T3 terminal, comprehensive transportation center and production auxiliary facilities, realizing the seamless connection of 7 modes of transportation such as aviation, urban railway, subway, and long-distance highway, and the design goal can meet the operational needs of 35 million passengers and 440,000 tons of cargo and mail throughput. The insulation project covers core functional areas such as the departure floor, arrival floor, and passenger transfer channel of the terminal, as well as supporting mechanical and electrical areas with strict environmental requirements such as the central air-conditioning room, comprehensive pipe gallery, and baggage system equipment room.
The high requirements of large aviation hubs for precise indoor temperature and humidity control, energy consumption control and quietness of the sound environment, coupled with the climatic characteristics of Wuhan, have given birth to the unique insulation pain points of the project. The façade of Terminal 3 is composed of nearly 2,000 high-transmittance glass curtain walls, which have energy-saving characteristics, but the long-span open space still faces the problem of energy loss caused by significant temperature differences between inside and outside. The indoor "capillary" air conditioning system needs to maintain stable operating conditions for a long time, and poor insulation will greatly increase energy consumption and affect the comfort experience of passengers. The water supply, power supply, heating and other pipelines laid in the comprehensive pipe gallery are prone to the risk of condensation due to changes in environmental temperature and humidity; At the same time, the dense flow of people in the terminal, the continuous noise generated by the operation of the baggage conveying system and aviation equipment, and the need for insulation materials to take into account the efficient sound absorption and noise reduction function, and multiple requirements put forward strict standards for the comprehensive performance of materials.
For glass curtain walls and large space areas, the selected thermal insulation materials have the characteristics of efficient thermal insulation and light transmission, effectively reducing the thermal bridge effect. In the central air conditioning duct and comprehensive pipe gallery pipeline insulation project, the insulation materials used are suitable for the working conditions of high humidity and long-distance pipelines, and have both fire and flame retardant, moisture and mildew resistance and excellent thermal insulation performance. At the same time, the selected materials meet the green building standards, meet the strict requirements of environmental protection and cleanliness, no harmful gas release, anti-aging and durability in airport public places, and are highly consistent with the construction concept of building a central aviation gateway and low-carbon sustainable operation.
